In a Family Emergency, Nurse or Wife?

I usually don't have the option to be "incognito" -- when my dad had surgery, my dad introduced me to everyone from the docs to EVS as "his daughter the nurse." And in a rural area, you always seem to run into someone you've had as a patient or family member....usually the more scruffy you look, the more folks you bump into during that quick trip to the grocery store.
